BSocSci - Political Science and Psychology - 2022

"Umntu ngumntu ngabantu - I am a person because of my people."

I am a Bachelor of Social Sciences student with majors in Political Sciences and Psychology, which means I\’m uniquely positioned to generate creative solutions drawn from multiple disciplines and understand the fundamental drivers of people\’s motives, behaviours and how that translates to their actions.

Career Aspirations

I see myself working as a lawyer, attorney or an advocate of people and their rights, especially those who are most vulnerable in society. Ideally I would like to work within the profession of law, however, with my background in psychology and political sciences, I would also consider working in other sectors that align with my career aspirations.

Work & Volunteer Experience

I have had the amazing opportunity to volunteer for various initiatives, including the Othello Retirement village, facilitating moot court workshops, building a home in Langa with Habitat for Humanity, reading to preschool children at Nceduluntu Creche, and Maitland Cottage. I have assisted in book fairs and drives for fundraising and have been involved in various SBF events, including facilitation of talks with the high school learners.

Other Interests

I enjoy being involved in service projects in my local community. Prior to Covid restrictions I was part of the Liesbeeck futsal Women’s team and the Woolsack Outreach Portfolio. I enjoy reading, camping and socialising.
